The bands will be launching their split single in select cities across the country

Melbourne-based trio Iowa plan to follow up the success of their debut album from last year Never Saw It Coming, by teaming up with Sydney-siders Sounds Like Sunset for the release of a split 7" vinyl record, featuring singles Always The Devil and Open Up Your Eyes, respectively.

IOWA have teamed up once again with sound engineer Anthony Cornish for their single Always The Devil, in which they have aimed to capture the sound of their live shows: fuzzed-out guitars, thunderous bass and manic drums.

Conversely, Open Up Your Eyes is the first recording to come from Sounds Like Sunset since 2005, a year in which they were nominated for the inaugral Australian Music Prize. Their new single marks a welcome return to the limelight, and is a strong indication of great things to come for the group.

The split 7" record Always The Devil/Open Up Your Eyes is available exclusively through TYM Records in Brisbane. To launch the record, both bands will play shows in Brisbane and Melbourne, while Sounds Like Sunset will play additional shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Check out the dates below:
