Indigenous Arts Awards Calling For Nominations

Closing November 12.

The Australia Council is seeking nominations for the 2016 Indigenous Arts Awards.

Two categories have been set up in order to recognise work within the Indigenous arts and nominations will close November 12.

The Red Ochre award is a lifetime achievement honour and will be bestowed upon a senior Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander for their contributions to the arts on both a national and international level.

Past winners include Archie Roach, Dr Gary Foley and more.

The Dreaming Award focuses on artists aged 18-26 and will provide an opportunity for them to undergo a major project through mentoring and partnerships.

Entering its ninth year in 2016, the prestigious annual event will be presented on May 27.

You can make a nomination and find out more info via the Australia Council website.
