UPDATE: Urban Country Music Festival Now Completely Cancelled

Organisers of the Urban Country Music Festival, which was due to kick off tonight in Caboolture, Queensland, have been forced to cancel tonight's events in the face of inclement weather bearing down upon the south-east of the state in the wake of New South Wales' pummeling last week.

On the event's social media channels today, organisers explained that tonight's festivities would have to be called off altogether, with further updates expected in the near future as to the rest of the weekend's program.

"Tonight's program has been cancelled due to the inclement weather," the festival wrote on Facebook. "An update on the rest of the weekend's program will follow later today.

"All campers please hold tight and follow the directions of traffic management staff."

With respect to refunds, the festival organisers explained that such reimbursement would be processed for Friday-day-ticket purchases, and that campsites could not currently be processed due to flooding impeding access to the grounds.

"Please note refunds will be processed for Friday Day Ticket purchases," Urban Country Music Festival wrote. "At this stage no campsites are being processed as it is unsafe to set up. The roads surrounding the festival are flooded in parts and the festival is not accessible."

UPDATE: With wild weather tearing through Queenland, Urban Country Music Festival has confirmed that Saturday and Sunday’s proceedings have also been cancelled.

“Festival organisers wish to advise that due to the inclement weather, extreme damage caused to the site and equipment and safety concerns for the public the 2015 Urban Country Music Festival has been cancelled,” read a statement on the festival's Facebook.

Refunds are being processed for ticket holders.
