Housed in Sydney's Carriageworks arts precinct, Performance Space launches the inaugural Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art this October.
Featuring acclaimed Australian and international artists working at the experimental edge of their art forms, Liveworks, comprised of 11 major works and in a first for Sydney, will present a multidisciplinary arts program that spans theatre, dance, digital technology (i.e. robots performing to experimental scores) and visual arts.
Among the participants are Wade Marynowsky with his futuristic take on an opera, Robot Opera; Sydney-based Aboriginal artist Jonathan Jones, and all-girl queer collective, Hissy Fit. The festival runs for three weeks.
