I Killed the Prom Queen guitarist Jona Weinhofen recently caught up with Destroy All Lines as part of the company's 'Destroy Music' episode series to discuss the band's reformation and plans for the year ahead.
In the video interview, posted on Destroy All Lines' Youtube channel, Weinhofen affirms that bringing IKTPQ back was something talked about for some time.
"Prom Queen getting back together was something I guess we've talked about for quite a while now. We got offered the Destroy Music tour and at first we wanted to kind of say no. We weren't sure if the timing was going to be right…and then when I kind of talked to everyone about it and mentioned the idea and we kind of realised that we were all free at that time...the more we looked at it, the more we thought it would be a cool opportunity to actually play in front of people again and announce that we are a band again," Weinhofen said.
Furthermore, the guitarist touches on the addition of ex-The Red Shore vocalist Jamie Hope to the line-up instead of having previous singers Michael Crafter and/or Ed Butcher front the group once more.

"We felt like we wanted to continue and move forward with kind of like a fresh start with I Killed Prom Queen and it just felt safer to try and enlist someone we felt more conformable with…When he (Hope) took over on vocals for The Red Shore, I was a big fan of his vocal style and frontman in general," the musician said.
