Here’s an unusual yet sweet story to send you into the weekend: Iggy Pop’s cockatoo, Biggy Pop, is a fan of Hoodoo Gurus.
Posting a video on Instagram of his pet genuinely dancing (and headbanging) to the Hoodoo Gurus’ deep cut, Where Nowhere Is – from the band’s 1987 album, Blow Your Cool – Iggy Pop looks on and, as the song and dance moves come to an end, shares an important message.
He also walks around the house with Biggy, then outside, and holds an Australian flag, all while Where Nowhere Is plays.
The punk icon posted the video of Biggy dancing to Hoodoo Gurus to help raise awareness for next week’s Wild Aid concert, which is fundraising for the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital.
Iggy and Biggy Pop are both patrons of the Hospital. On Saturday, 27 September, Hoodoo Gurus will perform at the concert at The Green Room, located on the Bluesfest site, along with Toni Childs and Brisbane heroes Screamfeeder. You can find tickets to the event via Moshtix.
“This post goes out extra special, to our Aussie friends,” Iggy (or Biggy) captioned the video.

“See, it’s just about time for the 3rd annual, Wild Aid benefit concert…and we wanna make sure that the good peeps of Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Byron Bay areas, know what’s up.”
The duo continued, “September 27th, 2025 is the date, and the Green Room, Byron Bay, is the place. The event’s proceeds will support the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and their lifesaving care of sick, injured, and orphaned Australian native animals. Basically, all my feathered cousins, but also my furry and scaly friends too :).
“The Hoodoo Gurus, who you’ve been listening to in this post, will be headlining, and there will be performances by Toni Childs, Screamfeeder, and The Honey Sliders, as well. Get your tix now! The link to moshtix.com.au (something, something, Wild Aid) etc., is in my bio at the top. That’s the easiest way. Just click on the link up there. Thanks a bunch, everyone!”
