Iggy Azalea ProfileThe promoters of Iggy Azalea's Australian sideshows expect the announced shows will go ahead as planned, despite Azalea apparently having no knowledge of them last night.
The shows, taking place in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in between her supporting slots for Beyonce, were announced yesterday, but in a series of tweets – which have now been deleted but available at Pedestrian – she apparently had not been informed of the dates.
“Please don't buy any tickets unless they are to Beyonce as of right now. If I add any shows, I'll be the first to let you know,” she posted.
A second tweet read, “I'm still not doing ay sideshows in Australia. If this changes I will let you all know.”
It is unlikely that the promoters of the sideshows, John Denison's IEG [International Entertainment Group], would have risked the wrath of the artist's management, or Beyonce's promoter Live Nation, by jumping the gun on the announcement and it is understood that they had the green-light to announce. A breakdown in communication in her own camp appears to have resulted Azalea not being notified.
Today Denison has told punters that the issues would be “sorted” and that the problems arose with management. He added that he was “staying out of it”.
IEG's official statement reads, “IEG have recently announced Iggy Azalea will be performing sideshows in Australia presented with The Bump and Channel V.
“All appropriate care and measures were taken prior to announcing these dates. Like Australian fans, IEG were looking forward to seeing the popular Australian artist perform her own shows in October and are hoping to confirm final dates with her management as soon as possible before tickets go on sale next Tuesday.”
Confirmation is expected tomorrow morning.
