Iconic Queensland venue the Mansfield Tavern has entered a new era, re-opening its doors after “extensive” renovations and its bandroom rebranding as The Arena.
Mansfield Tavern's history dates back to the 1970s. A cornerstone of Brisbane’s live music scene, the venue—previously dubbed Rock Arena—has renewed energy. Mansfield Tavern has a 50-year legacy in Brisbane, having served the local community for decades.
The band room has hosted iconic Australian and international icons, such as Midnight Oil, Cheap Trick, INXS, Joan Jett, The Angels, Madness, Crowded House, Powderfinger, and more, with Violent Soho showing their support for the venue when it was reported the Mansfield Tavern would be demolished.
Combining history with the modern, the venue shows off a contemporary look while retaining its watering hole and entertainment space. It has a family-friendly atmosphere and an “unrivalled” entertainment program, which kicked off with 1927 playing live on Saturday (21 June). The Arena is scheduled to host live music, comedians, live sports and more in its entertainment programming.
Following its 1927 gig on the weekend, The Arena charges into the rest of the year with performances including tribute groups to Fleetwood Mac and Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Angels, Rezzfest, Necrosonic Festival, JD Fortune, The Australian Eagles Show, and more. You can check out the schedule below and purchase tickets on the venue’s website.
Venue Manager Claire Maskill said of The Arena’s mighty return, “We are thrilled to be welcoming our community back to their new-look local! We’ve completely spruced up the pub and the amazing entertainment venue, it feels like a whole new chapter!”
