A proposed helipad at the hospital across the road from Hobart's Theatre Royal has the venue reportedly worried about the noise impact it would have on performances.
ABC reports that Theatre Royal, which is the oldest working venue of its kind in Australia, would need to invest in insulation to mitigate excessive noise from the Royal Hobart Hospital multi-million-dollar redevelopment.
Theatre Royal frequently hosts live music, comedy and other productions, with Parks & Rec stars Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally yesterday announcing a show there in January, and Ian Moss and I Know Leopard also booked to perform.
The venue reportedly did not want to hinder the helipad's in any way, but said the noise impact would be problematic to performances.
The construction of the helipad is excepted “a life per year”, according to Health Minister Michael Ferguson.
