Ice Nine Kills are horror fans as well as committed heavy metal musicians; they continually prove this with the second in a series of horror-based albums, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood, released in 2021, the follow-up to 2018's The Silver Scream.
The band have just revealed the ten-minute gory journey through the title track, Welcome To Horrorwood. The music video is filled with odes to slasher films and an abundance of jumpy moments.
Speaking on the latest display of psychotically gratuitous gore and violence, Ice Nine Kills frontman and creative visionary Spencer Charnas says, “Keep children and the elderly far away from this video."
Released in October 2021, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood saw Ice Nine Kills score their first Top 20 position (#18) on the Billboard Top 200, topped the Digital and Current Hard Music charts, hit Top 5 on the Current Rock, Independent, Current Albums, and Album Sales charts and has clocked up 137 million cross-platform streams to date and 13 million YouTube views for singles Hip To Be Scared, Assault & Batteries, Rainy Day, Funeral Derangements, Take Your Pick and The Shower Scene.
Ice Nine Kills have a massive year ahead of them, touring their own shows and joining Metallica on their recently announced M72 World Tour - further support acts include Pantera, Wolfgang Van Halen's Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, and Architects.
The M72 shows start in Amsterdam on 27 April 2023, with the band performing two nights in each city and promising that no two songs will be the same per evening. A segment of ticket sales will benefit Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation, which has raised nearly $13 million for many charitable causes.

In an ode to one of the most influential cinematic releases ever to grace the silver screen, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, Ice Nine Kills released the gruesome, cinematic music video accompaniment to their song, The Shower Scene, in August last year.
The video for The Shower Scene stars Ice Nine Kills Scream Queen, Nadia Teichmann, and Victoria Potter Worsnop alongside beloved horror movie figures Joe Bob Briggs (Martin Scorcese's Casino, The Last Drive-In), Scout Taylor- Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween 1 & 2), Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Devil’s Rejects,) and Ricky Dean Logan (Freddy’s Dead, Back To The Future series).
Speaking about the release, Charnas offered:
"While paying tribute to perhaps the most influential horror film of all time, Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, we simultaneously continue the INK Horrorwood Saga we began exactly a year ago to the day. Will this be the end? Or is the next chapter just right around the coroner…"
