He faces 23 sickening charges, all of which he denies.
Ian Watkins, frontman for British nu-metal exponents Lostprophets, has faced court to deny 23 separate charges pertaining to the rape of an infant and the possession, making and distribution of indecent images of children.
He faced Cardiff Crown Court via video link from his prison in Parc Prison, Bridgend on Monday. Two women – who cannot be named – also appeared via video link from where they are held, one of who is accused of aiding and abetting the rape of a one-year-old child.
The Independent reports that 35-year-old frontman has been accused of raping the infant twice as well as aiding and abetting the assault of a child even younger. Collectively the three parties are accused of 32 offences, the earliest of which dates back to 2007, all of which they deny.
Judge Eleri Rees adjourned the hearing until Thursday when a case management hearing will take place. It is expected that a date for the trial of all three parties will be set at this stage, as all legal teams confirm the availability of key witnesses.
