Australian rock music icon Ian Moss has revealed that fans shooting photos and videos on his upcoming tour will not be allowed, following a no-phone policy enforced by artists such as Jack White, Tool, Ghost, and Bob Dylan.
This month, the Cold Chisel guitarist, singer and solo artist embarks on his Ian Moss + Trio: One Guitar One Night Only tour, performing in theatres in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Hobart, and Melbourne. And for this tour, Moss wants fans to put their phones down and “enjoy the performance with your eyes instead.”
The new policy was announced just days before the tour begins this week. Moss shared the news on his social media.
“To ensure the best possible experience for everyone - both the audience and the artists - photography and video recording will not be permitted during the performance,” he wrote on Instagram and Facebook today.
He continued, “In the past, we’ve taken a relaxed approach, but following feedback about disruptions, we’ve changed our policy. Venue staff have been briefed and will help us enforce this policy. There will be no exceptions.
“We kindly ask you to respect the performers, fellow concertgoers, and the atmosphere by switching off phones and other devices for the duration of the show.

Moss is presenting a no-phones policy following the release of his latest live album, Live At Anita’s, released last Friday (2 May).
The album contains Moss’s first-time live recordings of Flame Trees, Cry Me A River, I’m Going Back and Green Green Grass Of Home, as well as the first-ever live acoustic performances of Rivers Run Dry, Out Of The Fire, and Nullarbor Plain. The 17-track live album was recorded at Anita’s Theatre, Thirroul, on his Rivers Run Dry Solo Acoustic Tour.
