We all know that Taylor Swift is one of the most successful artists in music, but with musicians discussing how difficult it is to make a living in the industry these days, how much money does someone of Swift’s calibre make per tour?
If projections are correct, the Anti-Hero singer is set to make a whopping $1 billion from her Eras tour globally, which makes it the highest-grossing tour of all time.
For her seven shows in Sydney and Melbourne in February 2024, The West Australian reports that Swift is expected to earn an enormous $35 million – that’s $5 million per gig.
Fans in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth have been desperately hoping for the Eras tour to head their way since the tour announcement, but according to an insider speaking to The West Australian, there wasn’t enough time for Swift and her crew to take the show around the entire country.
“With big tours like this, the directive would come from the artist,” the source said.
Swift’s Eras tour skipping a majority of the country has even attracted the attention of politicians, with Steven Miles (QLD’s Deputy Premier) hitting out at the Love Story singer for snubbing Brisbane.

As this week’s Chart Facts article reveals, Swift’s upcoming Australian tour has brought unprecedented demand to sites other than Ticketek – radio and streaming can’t get enough, either.
The Music’s Gavin Ryan wrote, “One-fifth of the Top 50 this week is occupied by Taylor Swift tracks, as her February 2024 tickets went on frenzied sale this past week across the country. This has helped all of her ten entries within the fifty this week to leap up the chart, some even back into the Top 100.
“Jumping up twenty-three places from last week to a new overall peak of #3 this week is her 2019 track Cruel Summer, which was to be issued as a major single in 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.”
The Australian dates of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will kick off on 16 February 2024 in Melbourne and 23 February 2024 in Sydney with special guest artist Sabrina Carpenter.
