The Leeds hospital where music icon in which MF DOOM died on October 31, 2020, at the at of 49, has apologised for the substandard care he received prior to his shock death.
ICYMI: Earlier this week, it was revealed that Jasmin Thompson, the wife of late rapper MF DOOM, real name Dumile Daniel Thompson, had raised "concerns" around the treatment the muso received at the hospital prior to his sudden passing.

Thompson had taken just "two doses" of the medication before he began to suffer from breathing problems and his "tongue and throat had started to swell".
His wife said she had a "number of concerns" over her husband's care at the hospital, claiming that he had called her on October 21 "in distress" as he was unable to alert medical staff to his deteriorating condition because his buzzer was to of reach.
Now, a representative for the hospital has issued a statement following the inquest, in which they apologised for MF DOOM's sub-standard care.

"I would like to offer our sincere condolences to [MF Doom's] family, friends and fans at this difficult time. I apologise [sic] that the care he received was not to the standard we would expect," St. James Hospital's chief medical officer told the publication.
"Following his sad death we undertook a serious incident investigation and the report has been shared with Daniel’s family," the statement continued.
"As a result we have put in place a number of actions and the wider learning from what happened is to be used as a teaching topic in a number of different clinical specialities [sic]. We also support the coroner’s recommendation for clearer national guidance and awareness in this area."
The statement from the hospital comes following the family of the late rapper conducted conducting an investigation into the standard of care provided at the hospital before his death, with a specific focus on allegations of insufficient attention from the medical staff, who reportedly took two hours to administrate medication for his swollen throat.
Thompson told Wakefield Coroner’s Court that DOOM had been placed in a room containing an "old metal desk" and books, saying the room appeared to be "a hospital room a very long time ago."
"I don’t want to say it was an old storage room … it wasn’t set up. Maybe it was a room a long time ago. It did have a bed in it.”
She then tried to contact the hospital to alert them of her husband's deteriorating state, only to be told she would be unable to visit him due to COVID restrictions.
"I was not able to see him until the 31st," she said. "That's when the respirator was turned off that was helping him breathe."
Wakefield Coroner's Court was also told that MF Doom had tried to get out to bed while complaining that he "couldn't breathe" before collapsing and going into cardiac arrest.
It was later revealed that he had suffered a rare reaction to his medication, Angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, which had caused him to develop angioedema, which causes extreme swelling of the body.
