Holding AbsenceWelsh rockers Holding Absence are heading to Australia in August, officially announcing their first-ever headline tour Down Under.
Having visited as support for Thornhill, Void Of Vision and You Me At Six, now it’s Holding Absence’s turn to enjoy the spotlight. In 2023, they toured across the country with Thousand Below and Keepsake.
For their upcoming Australian dates, they’ll be joined by special guests, Californian metalcore outfit Kingdom Of Giants.
The tour commences at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Friday, 14 August. From there, it continues at Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Saturday, 15 August, Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Sunday, 16 August, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Wednesday, 19 August, and concludes at Perth’s Magnet House on Thursday, 20 August. The Melbourne and Perth shows are 18+, while the others are all-ages.
Fans can get their hands on pre-sale tickets on Tuesday, 28 April, at 12 pm AEST, followed by the general sale on Wednesday, 29 April, at 11 am local time. Head to the Destroy All Lines website for more ticketing information.
Holding Absence are touring in support of new music. Earlier this month, the band dropped the poignant new single, Whisper Of A Dream, their first taste of the follow-up to 2023’s The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction. The single marks their debut release with their new label home, Sumerian Records.

The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction closed a defining trilogy for the band, which began with their 2019 self-titled debut and continued with 2021’s The Greatest Mistake Of My Life.
Kingdom Of Giants, meanwhile, return to Australia after a 2023 tour opening for Bury Tomorrow. Since then, they’ve released two new EPs, Bleeding Star and Burning Chrome.
