Minnesota indie pop outfit Hippo Campus will venture Down Under for the first time ever next year.

After recently being confirmed on the Adelaide Festival line-up, the five piece have announced headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in March, all in support of their second LP, Bambi.

Bambi is an album that looks to undo any “distorted, social-media-fuelled perceptions of the band”.

“Social media promotes this weird non-reality when it comes to artists and bands, where they get put up on a pedestal and treated like some kind of upgraded human,” guitarist Nathan Stocker said. 

“We’d much rather make community happen with our fans, which is the whole reason we started this in the first place.”
