Hey Aussie Artists: Wanna Perform On 'MTV Unplugged'? Here's What You Need To Do

Looking to discover Australia's next big talent.

Following news that MTV Unplugged will premiere in Australia later this year, MTV Australia have announced a competition looking for undiscovered artists to showcase on the program.

The competition, which opens today, will see four Aussie singer-songwriters flown to Melbourne to perform one cover song from Unplugged's huge catalogue and one original track in front of the in-studio audience and music industry heavyweights.

The winning artists will get the full 'Unplugged' experience too, with their story to be told in a content series which will air on MTV.

It comes after Gang Of Youths were confirmed as the first act to perform on the Australian-first MTV Unplugged

Speaking to The Music this month, bass player Max Dunn said, "It's pretty mind-blowing, like it is pretty cool.

"Get to make songs sound a certain way and give people a more genuine experience of the melody."
