Okay, so here's the run down.
Crystal Cities are an Empyrean rock band from Sydney, Australia and they put out a new song called ‘Good Life’ a little while back. The song oozes out into your two ear holes (note: you should only have two, any more and you should see a doctor immediately) with its soft, dreamy vocals, warm guitar riffs, and psychedelic instrumental textures that sound like you just stepped into a time machine and went back to the 1980's.
The recording process here was proper DIY, with the studio being more of a garage than a flashy recording studio, that is to say, it was a garage. But that method actually gives the song and the band's overall sound a rather homey feel to it.
Now, Crystal Cities have also been playing a handful of shows around the country and you can check out the remaining tour dates, and the new song, below:
