#womensmarch
Over the weekend, millions of people in over 60 countries around the world took to the streets to oppose President Donald Trump's hateful, disrespectful opinions on women and racial and religious minority groups.
Led by the Women's March On Washington which coincided with Trump's inauguration and boasted an estimated 750,000-strong crowd, over 600 rallies were held worldwide.
We saw stunning aerial images of concerned but united citizens, celebrities and musicians, including Madonna, Scarlett Johansson, Miley Cyrus, Mindy Kaling, Ellen Page, Rihanna, Sir Ian McKellan and Nick Offerman, who took to the streets to march in protest of what they feel will be an erosion of women's rights under Trump's presidency.
Closer to home, Sydney and Melbourne both held marches with between 2,000 and 5,000 in each city. People showed up to not only oppose Trump's misogynistic rhetoric but to bring visibility to Indigenous rights, refugee rights and LGBTQI+ rights and promote love, diversity and acceptance in general.
