WATCH: The First Look Trailer For The New Helen Reddy Biopic Is Here

Check out the teaser now!

The first look trailer for upcoming Helen Reddy biopic, I Am Woman, has been released this week.

Following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, the film will be released in Australia on 21 May next year.

I Am Woman tells the story of the Melbourne-born singer who "arrived in New York in 1966, virtually broke and a single mother of a toddler, before she went on to become one of the most successful recording artists of her generation. She wrote and sang the song I Am Woman that became the anthem for the women's movement in the 1970s".

Tilda Cobham-Hervey (Hotel Mumbai, 52 Tuesdays) stars as Reddy, alongside names like Evan Peters (X-Men, Deadpool 2) as Reddy's manager and husband, Jeff Wald and Danielle Macdonald (Patti Cake$, Bird Box) as journalist Lilian Roxon.

"We're beyond delighted to reveal this first look at I Am Woman," Transmission Films' Andrew Mackie said.

"Tilda Cobham-Hervey – breath taking as Helen Reddy - is a revelation in this role, confirming that she is a star of the now, rather than the future. [Director] Unjoo Moon has given us a film of great emotion, scale and contemporary resonance.

"We can't wait for Australian audiences to enjoy this incredible true story of an Australian icon who conquered the world."
