Melburnian country-folk three-piece The Mae Trio are kicking off their east-coast-spanning Well Enough Alone tour over the next few days with a spot at the National Folk Festival, in Canberra, before hitting the road for a run of headline shows to welcome sophomore album Take Care, Take Cover.

In the lead-up to their sojourn, theMusic is chuffed to bring you a sneaky first listen to the gorgeous 11-tracker, which was recorded in Nashville with renowned producer and engineer Erick Jaskowiak (The Waifs, Crooked Still and more) and features guest spots from Maya De'Vitry (The Stray Birds), Darrell Scott, Jeff Taylor (The Time Jumpers), Jano Rix and Kai Welch.

The album follows 2013's warmly received debut effort, Housewarming, and showcases the instrumental and vocal talents of the Rigby sisters, Maggie (banjo/guitar/vocals) and Elise (violin/mandolin/vocals) with their friend and collaborator Anita Hillman (cello/vocals), the trio having spent the intervening years further sharpening the skills that saw their inaugural album earn them Folk Alliance Australia's Youth Award and the NFSA Folk Recording Of The Year.

They've since melted hearts on tours across Australia, Canada, the US and Europe, even earning spots at esteemed events such as Glasgow's Celtic Connection, Nashville's Americana Folk Festival, the Cambridge and Edmonton folk festivals on either side of the Atlantic, and local mainstays including Port Fairy Folk Festival and their imminent appearance in Canberra over the next few days.
