Get your Friday feeling right with your first crack at 'Archetype'
Celebrated SA electro-luminary Luke Million has unveiled Archetype, a brand new collaborative single with Jeswon of Thundamentals, capping off a massive 2015 and preceding what stands to be an even bigger next 12 months for the Adelaide-bred muso.
The first taste of Million's forthcoming EP (due March 2016), the track arose from a fortuitously productive writing session at Sydney's Studios 301 with Jeswon, Trials and Chance Waters. Million describes the song's genesis thus:
"We were vibing out working on some tracks together, we gelled really well and before we knew it we were channelling funk, hip hop and electronic music into this next-level party jam. After a few months sitting on it, I knew it had to see the light of day.
"I re-tracked the instrumental on nearly every bit of vintage gear I have in my studio and hit Jeswon of Thundamentals up to write and lay the final vocals down and he sure brought the goods."

The single has been officially released as of this morning (via etcetc), and puts a definitive punctuation point on Million's stupendous 2015, which saw him tour across not only Australia but the UK and Europe, collaborating and engaging with a ream of contemporaries as he's further honed the quirky arrangements and distinct style that helped him break through with such aplomb via early single Arnold. Certainly, Jeswon is stoked to have joined the list of creative partners to date.
"Although this song is quite different to any of my previous work, I am proud of Archetype, and the collaboration with Luke has given me an insight into a genre that I never imagined myself engaging with," he said in a statement.
"As a result of Luke's unwavering enthusiasm, and despite my hesitation, he convinced me that I was the right person to lay down the final vocals."
