David Brockie, frontman for cult metal band GWAR, died of an accidental heroin overdose, it's been confirmed.

The Virginia coroner's office revealed the news yesterday, stating Brockie – who performed under the name of Oderus Urungus – died as a result of acute heroin toxicity, as reported by the New York Daily News.

Brockie was found dead at his home in Richmond, Virginia in late March.

GWAR, who were here in February for the Soundwave tour, hope to honour their late band-mate by opening bar/restaurant in Richmond, which you can help happen.
