Groovin The Moo Adds Nearly 50 Local & Emerging Artists To Line-Up

The touring festival gets under way on Anzac Day

If you thought this week's announcement of the triple j Unearthed competition winners destined to grace stages at this year's Groovin The Moo festival was all the event had left in store for 2015, think again.

The GTM team has, in fact, bolstered the touring festival's line-up by nearly a further 50 acts, filling out its spare time with a comprehensive spread of local and emerging artists from all around the nation destined to bring the goods to the event in their home town.

In Oakbank, where this year's run kicks off on 25 April (Anzac Day), the smooth melodies of Jesse Davidson and abstract pop outfit Sparkspitter will lead the local charge, while additional emerging musos are still to be added; for Bunbury's event (26 April), the Mootown Stage will welcome a swathe of local DJs such as Bobby ChanceBoston SwitchDJ Jake WattsJack ManoniJuddyLiquid Culture DJsOzradecksPrinciRandoSonder and The Canzirri Project, with two more yet to be added — if you're a local DJ, you can send a three-minute (or thereabouts) mix, under 6MB and accompanied by your birthdate and contact details, here for your chance to be one of them.

When GTM hits Bendigo, electro-punk upstart Ecca Vandal lends her services to the cause, as do ascendant duo Pierce Brothers, Melburnian fave Harts, plus several additions to the new party stage, The Plot, including Ara Koufax, CC DiscoFlerm, GenerikGold Fields DJs, Total Giovanni DJs and Two Can. In the nation's capital, punters will be treated to sets from alt-indie chanteuse Montaigne, folk troubadour Xavier Dunn, and hip hop/psych/soul/'dreamtronica' outfit Boo Seeka.

Maitland also has a solid crop of new faces added to the bill, from electro producer Just A Gent to electronic/indie-pop songstress East and seven-piece 'fun-folk' purveyors The Soorleys. The Plot Stage also gets a healthy shot in the arm, with EmpiaIOU DJs, Mickey KojakOdd MobShantan Wantan IchibanStoney Road DJs and UV Boi all lined up to add their own flavour to the festivities.

Last but not least, up in Townsville, local outfit King Social will kick things off for the day, while far-north-bred Mosman Alder will be jaunting up close to their home town of Cairns for a spot of tropical travel, while local up-and-comer THEOUTDOORZ rounds things out for the north-eastern contingent.

Bendigo and Maitland's festivals are long sold out, but tickets are still available for the remaining events. See our Groovin The Moo pages in the Festivals tab for more information.
