More Grinspoon More Grinspoon

Grinspoon are heading on a massive national tour this October and November with special guests Private Function and Cupid & The Stupids

In addition to the tour announcement, Grinspoon will press their iconic albums, Easy (1999) and New Detention (2002), on vinyl for the very first time on Friday, 8 September. The albums are available to pre-order now and will be on the merch desk during their upcoming shows, but those copies will sell out fast. Pre-order while you can.

Kicking off at Miami Marketta Laneway on 29 October, the tour will then swing through Hobart, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, and Newcastle, before finishing up at Astor Theatre Perth on 24 November.

Tickets to the Easy Detention Australian Tour go on sale to the public at 9 am local time on Friday, 2 June from Grinspoon’s website. However, if you’re eager for early access, fans are invited to join the band’s newsletter and purchase presale tickets from 10 am local time on Thursday, 1 June, until an hour before the general sale begins.

For the first time ever, Grinspoon will be offering a VIP soundcheck meet & greet package, but here’s where the real magic happens:

One lucky fan at each show will have the opportunity to join forces with the band, jumping up to perform a Grinners song with Phil Jamieson (vocals), Pat Davern (guitars), Joe Hansen (bass) and Kristian Hopes (drums) at soundcheck. For more information, head to the band’s website.

Jamieson is amped to bring the band’s notoriously high-energy shows to a host of the country’s best live music stages. We’re delighted to be hitting the road again later this year, I’m so enjoying putting together the set list for these shows,” he said in a statement. “We’ll be throwing in some songs we’ve never played live, believe it or not.”

The secret to Grinspoon’s longevity, Jamieson believes, is “Absence makes the heart grow fonder and familiarity breeds contempt, so I think one of the smartest things we did in 2013 was go away.”

But this year, Grinspoon fans couldn’t be happier to have them back. View all the band’s tour dates below.
