From melodic, feels-heavy pop-punk to some of the heaviest riffs around, Greyscale Records expand their lineup with Graves.
After signing up the angsty Sydney pop-punks in Our Past Days, Greyscale Records have gone right to the other end of the musical spectrum for their second signing, Wollongong's toughest and heaviest outfit, Graves.
With this signing, Graves have announced their upcoming record, 'Monster', which was recorded with Sonny Truelove, and it drops on October 21st through their new label home. But the band isn't coming to you empty handed in this announcement, with the first track off the new album being 'Fear' (found below). If you like what you hear, you can pre-order their record through iTunes here.
Vocalist and the man of many intense faces, Rhys Benn, stated that the new song was about coming to terms with his place in the world, saying:
“Fear is about being the black sheep of my family, the failure. I never really felt accepted or welcomed at home and this song is the culmination of the different emotions & mind frame I experienced during this time. Fear sums up the experience of me realising the fact that's who I am, and that my family fears me for what they pushed away and created. A single chapter in the book that is the album.”
Graves are of course also supporting Suicide Silence right now on their national run alongside Boris The Blade and Disentombed, because that tour wasn't already heavy enough as it is. Tickets for that tour are on sale now through Destroy All Lines.
