RÜFÜS DU SOL & Flume Score 2020 Grammy Award Nominations

And the nominees are...

Aussie outfit RÜFÜS DU SOL have picked up their first-ever Grammy Award nominations today on the back of 2018-released album, Solace

The Sydney trio are up for Best Dance/Electronic Album, while the second single from the record, Underwater, is nominated for Best Dance Recording. 

They join fellow Sydney act Flume who is also in the running for Best Dance/Electronic Album with his March-released mixtape, Hi, This Is Flume following his 2016 win in the same category with Skin, and Melbourne outfit The Teskey Brothers, who are vying for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical after taking out four gongs at last night's Music Victoria Awards.


Meanwhile, Aussie director Baz Luhrmann has been recognised in the Best Musical Theater Album category for the new Moulin Rouge! The Musical production.

Australian-born-Nashville-based duo For King & Country have also scored two nominations and are up for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance with Dolly Parton collaboration, God Only Knows, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Album with their 2018 LP, Burn The Ships.

US pop artist Lizzo, who is heading to Australia in January, picked up the most nominations with eight, including Album Of The Year (Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)), Best New Artist and Record Of The Year (Truth Hurts).


Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X have scored six nominations each and will both feature in the Album Of The Year category alongside Bon Iver, Lana del Rey, Ariana Grande, Vampire Weekend and HER.

Other notable mentions for the 2020 Grammys include Taylor Swift (Song Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album), Maggie Rogers (Best New Artist), Ed Sheeran (Best Pop Vocal Album), Tool ((Best Metal Performance, Best Rock Song), Killswitch Engage (Best Metal Performance), Bring Me The Horizon (Best Rock Album) and J Cole (Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song).
