The world's most famous virtual band Gorillaz have announced the supports for their upcoming Australian "Escape To Plastic Beach" tour. The band, which is the brainchild of British musician Damon Albarn

The world's most famous virtual band Gorillaz have announced the supports for their upcoming Australian "Escape To Plastic Beach" tour. The band, which is the brainchild of British musician Damon Albarn and cartoonist Jamie Hewlett, will make their long-awaited live debut in Australia in December.


Gorillaz have already announced an impressive guest cast, including RnB great Bobby Womack and rapper Bootie Brown. It has now been announced that Gorillaz will be joined by mighty hip hop legends De La Soul who will play full sets all along the tour. They will also be supported by Swedish electronic stars Little Dragon, who have announced some sideshows of their own.

Gorillaz released their third album "Plastic Beach" in March this year through Parlophone and Virgin Records, which debuted at number one on the UK chart, number 2 on the US Billboard 200 and hit the top ten in several other countries.


De La Soul will return to Australian shores in February 2011 as part of the Playground Weekender festival, alongside Kate Nash, Kool & The Gang, Doves and many more.
