The Canadian will bring along Jaxon Haldane

In support of his new album Less Is More, folk balladeer Gordie Tentrees has announced his return to Australia in 2016 for a mammoth national tour that will feature 30 stops throughout the months of March and April.

The master storyteller will venture across the country and is set to entertain audiences with his signature fusion of heartfelt melodies and inspiring narrative, as seen in songs Somebody’s Child and Tired of Time, which explore themes inspired by the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013 and the fatal outcome of a man’s struggle with brain cancer.

Previous to his successful music career, the Canadian musician entertained audiences in other ways, taking to the ring as a professional boxer and boasting three Golden Glove awards for his efforts. His time as a youth worker has also had a great effect on his songwriting, re-telling tales of joy and despair with harmonicas and fiddles.

Joining Tentrees on his journey Down Under will be fellow Canadian musician Jaxon Haldane. The multi-instrumentalist is best known as the lead man for the band D-Rangers which has been active on the festival circuit for the past decade. Audiences will be treated to a short solo set from Haldane on the tour, as well as a special duo performance with Tentrees.
