A number of arrests and offences have been reported by police following music festivals around the country this weekend.
Victoria Police confirmed this morning that more than 60 people were processed for drug related offences in the area surrounding the Wild Horses Music Festival. Illicit drugs seized during the operation included ecstasy, cocaine, speed and cannabis.
One in four cars searched during the operation resulted in the uncovering of illicit drugs, with three drivers found to have drugs in their system. Two people were "medically evacuated as a result of drug overdoses".
This is the fourth edition of the 1000-capacity, three-day festival, which is located in Marysville. Acts including Axial Tilt, Sycotria, Gorovich appeared on this year's line-up.
"If you choose to attend a festival in possession of illicit drugs, you will be detected," said Senior Sergeant Mark Hesse. "No matter how well you think they are concealed, you will be caught."
Police also reported high visibility operations at the Good Things Festival event in Sydney on Saturday, which saw one person was issued with a Drug Criminal Infringement Notice after being found in possession of a prohibited drug, while a further two were issued with Court Attendance Notices.
One 38-year-old man was allegedly found in possession of MDMA and cannabis and was later taken to Maroubra Police Station to be charged with "possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug". He is set to appear in court for the charges later this month.
Victoria Police have praised crowd behaviour at the festival's Melbourne event saying, "The crowd was very well behaved, with only one patron being evicted due to drunk behaviour."
