Gold Coast Music Awards Announces 2016 Winners

Held last night at the Burleigh Brewing Co, the 2016 Gold Coast Music Awards announced this year's winners of Best Artist, Song Of The Year and more.

Singer/songwriter Ella Fence was the biggest winner taking home two awards — one for Best Song Of The Year and another for Best Music Video for Unknown Water — while Hussy Hicks accepted their Best Artist award from Germany.

Folk act Leopold's Treat also scored the Emerging Artist Of The Year award, while the People's Choice Award was given to Jason McGregor. Guy Cooper won Music Champion Of The Year, Blues On Broadbeach festival won Event Of The Year and Nightquarter bagged the Venue Of The Year award.

Gold Coast's Deputy Mayor Donna Gates noted, "Our city has a rich depth of musical talent it’s wonderful they are recognised and celebrated through these awards."
