Lindy Morrison (OAM), former drummer for iconic Brisbane band The Go-Betweens, has been re-elected to serve another term as artist representative on the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) board.

Morrison joined The Go-Betweens as drummer in 1980 and was a key member until they disbanded in 1989. She has served on the PPCA board since 1994, helping to promote and advance the rights of recording artists across the country.

Speaking about her re-election, Morrison said in a statement, “PPCA’s advocacy for copyright protection and compensation for the uses of recording artists and labels recordings, plus PPCA support for the AMP, Australia Council grants partnership, AIR, ARIA and Support Act are the reasons I am pleased to be returned as an Artist Director to the Board”.

Chairman George Ash praised Morrison on her re-election saying, “PPCA’s long-standing relationship with Lindy has been strongly driven by our shared commitment to safeguarding the rights of thousands of Australian recording artists and labels, ensuring that they receive a fair return for the use of their music”.
