Glastonbury To Be Screened On Australian TV

You don’t need to be in the UK to soak it up. Well, kinda.

Whether it's the crowds, the inevitable mud pit the festival will turn into, the days of travelling you'd have to endure or the thousands of dollars it would cost you; there are plenty of reasons why we can't all make it to Glastonbury.

But Australian audiences will be given the chance to see a chunk of the action from their own living rooms this year as Foxtel's UKTV will air a six hour package filmed at the festival, beamed in shortly after the event finishes.

While a representative from UKTV was unable to tell theMusic.com.au exactly which bands would be showcased on the special, they did say it would feature performances from across the three days of the event and would be hosted by Jo Whiley and Lauren Laverne.

The festival happens from Friday 28 June through to Sunday 30 and the diverse bill features the likes of The Rolling Stones, Rita Ora, Solange Knowles, Seasick Steve, Portishead, Chic, Arctic Monkeys, Ben Howard, Elvis Costello, Foals, Rodriguez, Primal Scream, Hurts, Rufus Wainwright, Kenny Rogers, Vampire Weekend and Mumford & Sons to name but a few.

The special will screen on UKTV from 3am Monday 1 July and will be repeated from 5pm that evening.
