It's been a big start to 2021 for Glass Animals with the UK group taking out another huge achievement in Australia this weekend.

Just over month after their single Heat Waves took out triple j's Hottest 100 of 2020, the track has claimed the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart.

The single has been in the Top 50 for the past 12 weeks, taking out the #2 position behind Olivia Rodrigo’s mega-hit Drivers License

Glass Animals are the first British group to top the chart since Clean Bandit's run with Rockabye in 2016 and 2017, and are also the first band to take out the #1 since The Jonas Brothers in March 2019.

"Can’t believe this. This was never the intention when we started this album... the goal was to write some songs that maybe made someone feel less alone for a moment when they needed it," said frontperson Dave Bayley of the achievement.
