With the recent news that this year's annual Newtown Festival would boast the theme "Newtopia" this November, the grassroots extravaganza in the heart of the inner west are asking for volunteers to become the fibre of this year's festival.
Volunteering roles can include anything from being traffic and stall marshals, stage managers, part of the gold coin team, photographers (though you need to be experienced), festival surveyors, dog show marshals (this is our pick), an eco ambassadors or part of the pre-festival production and marketing team.
You'll be right in the thick of the festivities, which usually pulls well into the five digits over the course of the day, and will be offered a free festival t-shirt, snacks throughout your shift, lunch and drinks. Both prior to and after the festival, there will be a debriefing.
Newtown Festival is held on Sunday, 8 November at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park and has an invaluable aim — to raise money for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre and its support and services for the vulnerable and disadvantaged.
