Gene Simmons Takes Another Swipe At Mick Jagger: 'Wouldn’t Last Half An Hour In My Outfit'

“I’m 72 and still in great shape."

More KISS More KISS

In a new interview with The Sun, Gene Simmons has once again stated that another globally powerful artist would not survive 'half an hour' in his iconic KISS outfit.

“Jagger’s in amazing shape, but he wouldn’t last half an hour in my outfit. I’m 72 and still in great shape. You’ve got to spit fire, fly through the air and all that stuff. And you do it for two hours,” Simmons stated.

“Am I going to be convincing doing this at 75? No. Because I still have to wear these dragon boots proudly. Each of them weigh almost as much as a bowling ball, on their own.

“Plus I wear about forty pounds of armour and studs and guitars that I’m carrying around on eight-inch platform heels. The physicality of what we do is just crazy.”

It's not the first time that Simmons has been weirdly arrogant and demeaning about his famous tour costume, stating, "You got to understand -- we love Jagger and Bruno Mars and Bono and anybody else, they're all great, but if you put those guys -- Beyoncé, put Beyoncé in my outfit with seven to eight-inch platform heels, dragon boots that each weigh as much as a bowling ball, the entire outfit, studs, leather and armor is about 40 pounds," in an exclusive interview with ET in April of this year.

"Then, you got to spit fire, fly through the air and do that for two hours. They would pass out within a half hour." he continued,

"We are the hardest working band out there and take pride in it. And not every band should be out there too long."
