Gawurra To Perform In Store At Basement Discs

Melbourne music lovers have been presented with the rare opportunity to catch Gawurra, aka Stanley Gawurra Gaykamangu, live at a free in-store appearance at Basement Discs from midday on 10 June.

Though only fresh to the scene, the extraordinary singer blending traditional and contemporary sound is already gaining national recognition, acclaim, and comparisons to fellow Yolngu artist Gurrumul, following the release of his debut album Ratja Yaliyali released last month.

Hailing from East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory,  it may be some time before people who miss this chance to get another.
