Tom Morello, Warpaint, Flea & More To Feature On Upcoming Gang Of Four Tribute Album

A star-studded list of musos have come together to pay tribute to seminal punk rock outfit Gang Of Four via a new compilation album.

The Problem of Leisure, slated for release on May 28, will feature new interpretations of Andy Gill and Gang Of Four songs, and its tracklisting includes IDLES, Tom Morello & Serj Tankian, Gary Numan, The Dandy Warhols, Warpaint, Flea & John Frusciante and more.

Last February, Gill, who was the only original remaining member of the UK group, passed away at age 64.

“Andy Gill was one of a handful of artists in history who changed the way guitars are played,” Morello said.

“His band Gang Of Four were just incendiary and completely groundbreaking with Andy’s confrontational, unnerving and sublime playing at the forefront. His jagged plague-disco raptor-attack industrial-funk deconstructed guitar anti-hero sonics and fierce poetic radical intellect were hugely influential to me.”
