Future IslandsBaltimore-based synth pop combo Future Islands, coming to Australia to perform with Mumford & Sons in Melbourne and Sydney in November, have announced their own headline shows in Adelaide and Brisbane.
Fronted by the charismatic Samuel T. Herring, the band was already performing with Mumford & Sons at their sold-out Melbourne concert and also at their Gentlemen of the Road concert in Sydney, but will now do their own shows.
Future Islands are still riding high on their fourth album, 2014's Singles, and particularly its lead single, Seasons (Waiting On You), their performance of which on the Letterman show became an Internet sensation.
Future Islands, who are signed to UK label 4AD, performed at Glastonbury this past June and come to Australia, where they join The Vaccines as Mumford & Sons' guests, straight from playing the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.
