For the first time since releasing Riptide (And Other Readings from the Book of Funk) in 2014, Japan's top funk export, Osaka Monaurail, are coming Down Under.
Led by frontman and band director Ryo Nakata, the world-class nine-piece have been pushing gold-standard funk for 25 years, the late genre icon Marva Whitney once calling them "one of the hottest funk bands on the planet".
The sharp-dressed rhythm combo start their run this November in Brisbane, before twirling their trumpets in Sydney, Melbourne, St Kilda, Fitzroy and Adelaide.
