Blowhard frontman Brentyn 'Rollo' Rollason has passed away over the weekend.

The news was confirmed via a post to the band's Facebook page, sharing that Rollason had "suffered a heart attack right before we went on stage" on Sunday night at The Brightside in Fortitude Valley.

"Unfortunately our dear mate didn't make it, despite the best efforts of venue staff, paramedics and QHealth emergency crew," the post continues. "Rollo: the Brisbane punk community and broader alternative music scene are forever in your debt. Shattered."

Tributes to the singer have rolled in since the announcement, including a Go Fund Me campaign to raise money for Rollason's family. It has so far raised just over $6,000 of the $20,000 goal in 19 hours.

Absolutely gutted this morning to hear of the demise of one of Brisbane's greats. RIP Rollo. A true legend of the punk...
