The welcome news comes after weeks of rumours, whispers, ultra-cryptic teasers, and a pop-up show at Sydney Opera House.

More Fred Again.. More Fred Again..

English record producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Fred again.. has caused a frenzy among fans with the news he’s set to tour Australia in the coming weeks.

As we predicted yesterday (Feb. 27), the adore u hitmaker dropped the news he would be performing a slew of arena shows in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast after he surprised fans by announcing he had landed in the country and performing at Sydney’s Opera House that night.

Following the show, Fred revealed that — as suspected — more shows were to be announced.

“This isn’t the end, we didn’t come all this way for just one show. We are going to announce a bunch more tomorrow,” he told the crowd.

Stayed true to his word, he then revealed he’s set to perform three shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on March 4, 5 and 6, a pop-up show at the Gold Coast (rumoured to take place at Doug Jennings Park on March 9), and three shows at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on March 12, 13 and 14

He’s also previously mentioned via Instagram Stories that he’s hoping to play at some small, independent venues, suggesting more pop-ups are in the works.

Tickets for the arena shows are set to drop on Thursday (Feb. 29) at 9am for Melbourne, 10am for Gold Coast and 1pm for Sydney via Ticketek.

The welcome news comes after weeks of rumours, whispers and ultra-cryptic teasers (which sent our inner conspiracy theorists into overdrive), Fred again.. announced his surprise Sydney show at 9:30am yesterday (February 27) – just 12 hours before the show kicked off. And of course, the demand for tickets was insane.

It took just three hours for the entire lot of tickets to be snatched up, but within minutes, the venue’s queueing system was completely overwhelmed: at one point in the morning, nearly 120,000 were trying to secure their own access to the gig.

It’s not the first time the cheeky muso has caused chaos Down Under — last July, he dropped teasers for the new tracks ten (the firrrrrsttt day back), adore u (toronto-home edit9) and JohnMystery (Edit3B). Those snippets arrived after he released his latest collaborative album, Secret Life, alongside Brian Eno on Four Tet's label, Text Records, which dropped on 5 May, and Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022), which was released in October 2022.

Fred Again.. toured Australia for the first time in early February 2023. Laneway Festival booking him and getting him here as he was blowing up was a stroke of genius, with the EDM star pulling the largest crowds of the festival. He also performed secret shows at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and played two other shows in Sydney: at the Hordern Pavilion and the Enmore Theatre.
