Only four Aussie acts have made the cut this year.

More Frank Ocean More Frank Ocean

The 2023 edition of the popular Californian music festival Coachella has officially released its lineup, with Frank Ocean, Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK headlining the respective three days.

Coachella remains to be one of the most successful music and art festivals to date, with over 250,000 people attending the two weekends. It’s also the most financially successful festival and has generated more than $700 million in economic prosperity for the surrounding communities.

Headliner Frank Ocean was originally set to perform at the 2020 festival but was rescheduled to 2023 when both the 2020 and 2021 events were scrapped due to the Pandemic. The Sweet Life singer hasn’t released a fully-fledged album since Blonde and Endless, both of which were released seven years ago in 2016. The singer has also not performed a full concert since 2017.

Some fans are curious as to whether Ocean's performance will prove to be the launch pad fora new release.

Four Australian acts have made it onto the lineup this year, including megastar The Kid Laroi, jazz/funk legends Hiatus Kaiyote, and iconic hit-maker Fisher - who will be joined by his British counterpart Chris Lake for his set. Alison Wonderland's side project Whyte Fang will also feature on the Friday lineup.

On Friday the 14th and 21st, the Palm Springs venue will host Gorillaz, Burna Boy, the Chemical Brothers, Kaytranada, Blondie, Becky G, Metro Boomin, Pusha T, and Wet Leg, as well as adventurous, jazz-leaning outfits DOMi and JD BECK and the Comet Is Coming.

On Saturday the 15th and 22nd, artists such as Rosalia, Eric Prydz, boygenius, the Kid Laroi, Charli XCX, Underworld, Labrinth, and Chromeo round out the bill, alongside more indie-leaning acts like Snail Mail, Marc Rebillet, Hiatus Kaiyote, Kenny Beats, Ethel Cain, the Linda Lindas, the Breeders, and Horsegirl, will take to the stages.

While the lineup on Sunday the 16th and 23rd offers up Bjork, Kali Uchis, A Boogie, Porter Robinson, Dominic Fike, Jai Paul, Latto, 2manyDJs, Christine and the Queens, Noname, Rae Sremmurd, Weyes Blood, Alex G, Sudan Archives, Momma, and dance veterans Sasha and John Digweed

Calvin Harris is also listed on his own at bottom of the Coachella poster but without a corresponding day for his performances.
