Current band members thought Allen West was doing ok
The current Obituary line-up thought their former guitarist was doing ok
The former guitarist for death metal band Obituary has been arrested over possession and production of methamphetamines.
According to Lambgoat, Allen West was arrested in late March for the "Drugs-Produce Methamphetamine" and "Drugs-Possess Listed Chemical With Manufacture Controlled Substance". Strangely enough, West pretty much dobbed himself in after he made a 911 call when two men broke into his house. He requested that the police search his home to see if the intruders were still there - instead they stumbled upon drug paraphernalia, which led to the arrest.
West was the guitarist for Obituary for over twenty years before he left in 2006. The band were recently out here for a national tour and vocalist John Tardy spoke to us about how West appeared to be making music again and doing well for himself.
“Our old guitarist Allen West was an important part of Obituary – he was with us from the beginning but obviously he had his problems and they've been gone over enough so I won't talk about them again. But he's been doing some recording lately, and I'm glad that things seem to be going ok for him.”

The news of the arrest follows on from a few bizzarre incidents in the metal scene. Yesterday we released footage of Emmure frontman Frankie Palmieri being electrocuted on stage at a gig in Moscow earlier this week. Christian metal outfit As I Lay Dying also found themselves in the headlines with lead singer Tim Lambesis arrested over charges of hiring a hitman to kill his wife.
