The rockin' vets continue their residency with David Letterman this week
Ubiquitous US rock icons the Foo Fighters have announced that they will unveil the first full track from their forthcoming eighth full-length, Sonic Highways, this Friday morning (AEST).
The band, who are approaching the midway point of their five-night residency for David Letterman, have been hitting the promotional circuit hard for the album, which has achieved infamy even before its release for the diverse locations in which it was recorded (eight cities across the US) as well as its accompanying HBO documentary series — which Aussies will be able to catch from this Saturday, October 18, at 4.30pm on GO!, only hours after its US screening. The station will air repeat viewings of the episode on Sunday, October 19, at 3.30pm, and on Channel Nine at midnight on Wednesday, October 22.
Until Friday, you can tide yourself over by catching up on the first two nights of their Late Show residency — night one saw them joined by Zac Brown to take on Black Sabbath classic War Pigs, followed up with guest appearances from Ann and Nancy Wilson from the legendary outfit Heart helping the Foos recreate old favourite Kick It Out.
The Foo Fighters' eagerly awaited eighth studio full-length, Sonic Highways, is released globally on Monday, November 10.
