More Foo Fighters More Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters guitarist, podcast host and all-around rock and roll legend Chris Shiflett has announced two special, intimate Australian shows while he’s in the country with Foo Fighters, but with a marked difference: he won’t be playing rock music.

Shiflett is promoting his new solo album, the alt-country and Americana-infused Lost At Sea. The album was released last Friday (20 October) via Blue Elan Records. You can purchase or listen to the LP here.

The two shows will take place at The Workers Club in Melbourne on Tuesday, 5 December, and The Great Club in Sydney on Thursday, 7 December. Tickets to both shows will be available on Thursday, 26 October, at 11 am AEDT via the Frontier Touring website.

“Touring Australia is always a blast, and I’m excited it worked out to schedule these solo acoustic shows between the big ones. Better re-string my J200 and dust off my capo,” Shiflett remarked in a press release. “I’ll be playing some tunes from my new record, Lost At Sea, as well as my last couple of records and a few covers. Might have to learn a couple Jackson United ones while I’m at it!”

Shiflett is also performing six stadium concerts with Foo Fighters this November and December to accompany his pub gigs.

Foo Fighters’ upcoming tour begins at HBF Park in Perth on 29 November before heading to Coopers Stadium in Adelaide, two shows at Melbourne’s AAMI Park, and concerts at Sydney’s Accor Stadium and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

While UK outfit Hot Milk will join the American rockers on three shows, Foo Fighters have added all-Australian support acts to their upcoming tour, including Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Teenage Joans, The Chats, and Body Type.

The tour supports the Foos’ recently released 11th album, But Here We Are, which earned a 4.5-star review from The Music. In it, Stephen Green wrote that Grohl “has created a pop-rock opus, delivering complex emotion through simple lyrics and melodies in a way that hits directly at the heart”.
