Celebrating Ausmusic Month!
The 10th annual ARIA Week kicks off on Monday, 14 November, to celebrate the brightest Australian music before its biggest night of the year, the 2022 ARIA Awards, on Thursday, 24 November, which will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and YouTube.
ARIA Week presents a range of programs and events designed to amplify Australian music. Ten massive days of concerts, conversations, workshops, pop-up performances and parties will provide opportunities for up-and-coming artists and industry professionals, celebrate our best established and aspiring talent, and facilitate essential conversations that will shape the future of local music.
Communities from Casula to Canberra - a pop-up performance will occur at Parliament House - will host ARIA Week, with Sydney's western suburbs the lucky locations for the intensive workshops, Breaking Down The Beat with Setwun, Creative Minds presented by Support Act, and Sound Advice: Getting Played, featuring Purple Sneakers' own Parry Tritsiniotis, providing attendees with the skills to not only produce their art but also get it heard.
BLAKSOUND, presented by Digi Youth Arts, ARIA and PPCA, will be an integral part of ARIA Week' they've been included for the first time. BLAKSOUND is a three-day Indigenous music conference and festival space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians joining the program on Sunday, 20 November, kicking off with a celebratory party in collaboration with Koori Radio.
Celebrating Ausmusic T-Shirt Day on Friday, 18 November, Flume will play a show at The Dome in Sydney.
ARIA Talks will take place at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) at the EQ on Wednesday, 23 November, with talks including The Right Note with the Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award nominees and Murray Cook (OG Red Wiggle); Ahead of the referendum/Walk with us with Tanya Hosch; How do you actually create change across a whole industry? and Bigger than The Beatles: How not to make a record with John Watson, Anna Laverty, Robbie Buck and a special guest who will look at the making of a sound recording through the lens of Peter Jackson's Get Back documentary.

The invite-only events to ARIA Week include a pop-up performance by Thelma Plum at Parliament House presented in partnership with YouTube, a Hip-Hop Event presented by ARIA and YouTube in Sydney, and a Good Humans industry networking party on Tuesday, 22 November.
Marion Briand, the Manager of Music Content Partnerships, YouTube Australia and New Zealand, revealed, "Ausmusic T-Shirt Day and ARIA Week are my favourite events of the year. We're excited to continue to support Support Act for Ausmusic T-Shirt Day again this year and to host a hip-hop event for the community during ARIA Week. With hip-hop being one of the fastest-growing genres in the world, the event will be a moment for YouTube to bring local artists together, thank them, celebrate them and look to the future."
