The Flaming Lips have unveiled their schedule for taking on Jay-Z's Guinness World Record for the most live concerts in 24 hours in multiple cities.

In 2006, Jay-Z played seven gigs, from California to New York, within a 24-hour period. The Lips will try to complete eight gigs between Memphis and New Orleans, in the same time-frame.

The first show is 4.30pm, June 27 with the band then aiming for five gigs throughout Mississippi (including a 6.30am show in Hattiesburg) and ending with two performances in Louisiana.

Support acts during the day include New Fumes, Gary Clark Jr, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Neon Indian, Hunter Hayes, Neon Trees, Givers and Grimes.
