The annual US Comic-Con event has just kicked off in San Diego this year for its 48th edition and there have already been a bunch of highlights, announcements and generally awesome activities that have taken place since its commencement.
Here are the top five things we've learnt so far at Comic-Con 2015:
conan o'brien makes a badass doof warrior
Beloved US talk show host and comedian Conan O'Brien has descended upon the renowned geek-fest this year and has also brought his TBS show to the festivities in what marks the first time that a talk show has been recorded during the event.
O'Brien mixed two of his specialities, comedy and music, to kick off this year's event with a tribute package to the recently released and ridiculously acclaimed film Mad Max: Fury Road. Rocking out on a moving semi-trailer as the Doof Warrior, O'Brien belts out a solo on the famous flaming guitar while his side kick Andy Richter stars as Immortan Joe.

this is the last time The Hunger games cast will appear at the event together
Sadly, all things must come to end and that is the case here with the cast and crew behind The Hunger Games film franchise. Lead actors Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson appeared on their final panel together to promote the upcoming and final film in the series, Mockingjay — Part 2 and all three actors made constant references to the fact that this would be the last time.

It is especially bittersweet for Lawrence who (besides some amazing appearances in Winter's Bone and The Burning Plain) got her big commercial breakout role as Katniss Everdeen in the first film released in 2012 — from there she went on to star in another massive film, Silver Linings Playbook where she nabbed the Academy Award for Best Actress at just 21 years old.
Here's hoping the final film pays homage to the books in the best way possible — by getting to the point a lot faster.
bill murray is still the coolest guy in hollywood
One of the world's most favourite actors and all around cool guy Bill Murray is almost an entity — he has no agent, no manager. If you want him in your movie, he'll call you if he likes the script, and you just pray that he'll show up on set. The veteran star is getting back into his comedic roots in the best way possible with his upcoming film Rock The Kasbah - check the trailer out in this link.
He surprised everyone at Comic-Con by showing up unannounced to the tune of Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water. And if that wasn't enough Murray sang parts of the song as he made his way on stage, dressed as his character in the film; a washed up tour manager. But if the new trailer is anything to go by, not to mention his anticipated Netflix Christmas special due out this year, Murray is anything but washed up.
Now please do everyone a favour and re-join the rebooted Ghostbusters film, Bill. It's the right thing to do.

a warcraft movie is on its way
You read that right, computer nerds.
Director Duncan Jones announced that not only is the film based on the hugely successful online games completed, but that he hopes to make two more sequels after that. As reported by io9, Jones said: "The status of the movie is, we have pretty much a finished movie."
"I have under 10 VFX shots which are being finished off right now, they need to be dropped into the movie, but we're kinda done."
The film is set for a June 2016 release and while we are all eager to see what it will look like on the big screen, the challenge will be on to do a better take than what animated TV show South Park did with the franchise — this new film could very well be the end of the world. Of warcraft.
ben affleck has big plans for batman
Many Batman fans were up in arms last year when it was announced that actor-director Ben Affleck would star as The Caped Crusader in the forthcoming Batman V Superman film, though the idea of this film happening was enough for people to get over that fact.
But now, as Deadline reports, Affleck has plans to star and direct in a stand-alone Batman film after wrapping up things on the current Zack Snyder flick and it is believed that the announcement will be made by the weekend's end at Comic-Con — not to mention Affleck and Superman star Henry Cavill will attend an autograph signing together at the festival.
It will no doubt be the event's biggest announcement if it is to take place but in the meantime, the Convention Centre have been kind enough to display some of the gadgets that will feature in the upcoming Batman movie — check out Slash Film for a full look at all of the shots.
