Festival-Goers Just Want To Use The Can, Get Blocked By Mariachi Band Instead

"Look, man, you're very talented, but I just want to use the toilet"

More The Internet The Internet

Portable toilets are one of the most grim realities of music-festival life for most punters, but at least US-based comedy troupe Improv Everywhere are trying to do something about it.

Granted, we don't know how useful it was to set up a TARDIS-like porta-loo and fill it with a mariachi band (or gospel choir, or Bollywood ensemble, or marching band, for that matter) to burst out and surprise busting punters at the recent Governor's Ball music festival in new York, but you certainly have to give them positivity points for the effort.

The troupe has now uploaded the compiled results of their surprise soirees — each performed by real, practicing entertainers in their own right — under the title The Magical Porta-Potty, and the response on-ground at the Governor's Ball seems to have been surprisingly encouraging, though we're not sure how many drunk or otherwise frustrated festival-goers didn't make the cut (probably at least a handful, if we're being realistic).

That said, we'd probably be too impressed to be mad if this sort of thing happened Down Under. Check it out below.

Improv Everywhere have also published a behind-the-scenes look at the execution of the prank, which featured performances from the New York City Mariachi Conservatory, Lady Peachena & The Late Show's Gospel Choir, Bollywood Funk NYC Dance School and previous Improv Everywhere collaborators the Patriot Brass Band.

See more information at the troupe's website and, if you're Splendour-bound next month, keep a watchful eye on any suspect dunnies.
